For decades, Ossian has been an essential part of Hungarian rock music history. Since the band was formed in 1986, their songs have brought generations together, led by Endre Paksi, who has become one of the undisputed icons of the Hungarian rock scene. They have given their audience not only unforgettable hits, but also thoughts, lyrics and emotions that have become deeply embedded in the everyday lives of their fans. The band will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a unique and unrepeatable event at the Papp László Budapest Sport Arena on January 16, 2027.
Classic songs such as Magányos angyal, A magam útját járom and Mire megvirrad still resonate just as powerfully as they did decades ago. At the same time, Ossian continues to prove through new albums and fresh songs that the band is far from living in the past. Their continuous creative work and intensive touring have resulted in numerous new songs achieving outstanding success in recent years.
Their enduring popularity is further demonstrated by the fact that Ossian’s albums released over the past decade have consistently achieved gold, platinum and double platinum status. The album Reményhozó has already reached triple platinum status and features Gyönyörű Bolond, which has received nearly 14 million views. The band has also released many other songs with millions of views, including Ha Te ott leszel velem, Barát, Soha nem lehet and Lassan ébredő. Following sold out tours in sports halls and cultural venues, a truly exceptional occasion is now approaching.
This evening will be more than a concert. It will be a shared celebration, a journey through the past, a reunion and an unforgettable experience for everyone to whom Ossian means more than music.
The evening’s special guests will be Rudán Joe Akusztik and József Kalapács, performing in an acoustic set.
